Adventures in Corporate Education

or, how my graduate studies are affecting my job in corporate education

About Me

I’m Gina. I live in MA, but I am originally from the Redneck Riveria. I am a distance graduate student at Florida State University. My youngest child is a sophomore in  college, which is why I thought I would have the time to go to grad school (crazy I know).

I work for EMC Corporation, where I develop technical training courses for customers, partners and internal personnel. Currently I work with our network management and configuration software. This blog is a way for me to talk about how my graduate coursework intersects with what I do at work – meaning that I do this on my own time and dime. That’s why I am including this standard disclaimer:

“The opinions expressed here are my personal opinions. Content published here is not read or approved in advance by EMC and does not necessarily reflect the views and opinions of EMC.”

My personal site is ginaminks.com, I mostly talk about my kids, Asperger’s Syndrome, Polycythemia Vera, and anything that may be interesting or annoying me at the current time. I’m usually paying attention on twitter too.

    Hi Gina,
Thnx for following me on twitter (h2cm), now we’re going round in circles ;-)
    Good luck with your studies.
The intrapersonal links page at Hodges’ model includes HCI, accessibility, education and e-learning and may be of interest to you and your fellow students?

I’m currently on the hunt for an online Grad-type program for eLearning/edu.technology. After pouring through US News & World Report top 50 Grad Edu schools, FSU is on my list (and U.Ill.UC & Indiana U & Drexel.edu & maybe a “real” program at Penn State-Great Valley)

I’d *love* to know what you think of it, and how you decided on it.

    Gina,
I found your name on “Directory of Learning Professionals on Twitter” and wanted to reach out to you. I visited your Twitter page.

My name is Gomathi and I am the Market Development Manager for Englishcafe. We are currently in beta and could use some feedback on the site. Will you help us out by giving us a quick peek or tweet? In the very near future we will be launching a program where Tutors can make money on our site as well. I may circle back to you when that launches.

    Can we touch base soon?
