I’m taking the online course Connectivism and Connective Knowledge, and there are pre-week 1 activities. I have readings, tests to run on the technology being used, as well as an assignment to answer the following questions on my blog. So here goes:
- Where you’re from
I am actually from NorthWest Florida, but right now I live about an hour west of Boston, MA. - Why you’re interested in this course
I write technical courses for a big company, I’d like to be able to use the best educational processes possible when creating courseware. - What has to happen in order for you to consider this course a success
I will consider it a success if I can keep up with the work (I am taking a grad level course for credit and working full time, so we’ll see), and if I can find something that I am able to incorporate into my duties at work. - Random information about yourself – your work, your experience with networked technologies, etc.
I design technical courses, right now network management and configuration software, so I am pretty technical. I used to be a web admin, so I have lots of experience with Tomcat, Apache, etc. I’ve facilitated online groups for several years, and many times the groups have included an instructional aspect, but never anything formal.
