You can help shape Dell storage product features

Are you an EqualLogic customer? Do any of the following statements sound like you?

  • You have “hands-on” storage responsibilities within vCenter. You back up VMs, create snapshots, set up replication, create datastores, or other storage tasks from within vCenter.
  • You have more than one EqualLogic Group
  • You manage EqualLogic Groups in disparate geographic locations

If this sounds like you, how would you like the opportunity to meet with us at VMworld in Las Vegas to give us direct input on your experience with EqualLogic products? You’ll get the opportunity to influence the future of EqualLogic’s integration with vCenter, and a shirt to boot!  If this sounds like something you’d like to do, hit us up in the comments or email us.

See you at VMworld!

Dell Storage community is headed to #NEVMUG this week!

This week members of the Dell Storage community who are based in New England will be heading to the infamous New England VMware user’s group (NEVMUG) summer outing up in Maine. In addition to myself, Sheryl Koenigsberg aka @storagediva, Will Urban aka@virtwillu, David Glynn aka @d_glynn, and Bob Ganley aka @ganleybob will be heading up to main to participate in the activities.

Here are the details for our session at NEVMUG:

Advanced SAN functionality for virtualization: simplified management, improved performance, data protection and disaster recovery. Storage integration with VMware provides important advantages for optimizing your virtual environment. This presentation will explore in detail the storage integration points for VMware and focus on performance, business continuity, disaster recovery and cost benefits of leveraging integrated SAN storage for VMware.  We will share configuration best practices for optimizing SAN storage with VMware and share some results of testing Dell storage as proof points for the benefits.

And of course we’ll be at Gritty McDuff’s for the lobster bake! Hope to see you there!

Congrats to the Dell vExperts!

Every year, the VMware Community bestows the designation “vExpert” on individuals who go above and beyond in their contributions to the VMware community. Here is their description of the award:

The VMware vExpert Award is given to individuals who have significantly contributed to the community of VMware users over the past year. vExperts are book authors, bloggers, VMUG leaders, tool builders, and other IT professionals who share their knowledge and passion with others. These vExperts have gone above and beyond their day jobs to share their technical expertise and communicate the value of VMware and virtualization to their colleagues and community.

I’m proud to say that two incredible Dell employees have been named vExperts: Kong Yang of the Dell Tech Center and Jason Boche of Dell Compellent.

I’m also excited for some of the Dell Storage community members who were named vExperts: Roger Lund, Fabio Rapposelli, and Jonathan Franconi.

If I missed anyone, please let me know. Congratulations everyone!
